No. To be considered for a position at WHOI, you must apply online for a specific job opening. If you are interested in more than one position, you will need to apply to each. Unsolicited resumes will not be reviewed.
No. As a federal contractor, we are required to collect certain information from all applicants. To be considered for a position at WHOI, you must apply through the online system, provide a cover letter explaining why you are interested and qualified for the position and respond to the questions.
Your background and qualifications will be reviewed and you may be contacted for further information by a member of our Human Resources Team or the hiring department.

Yes. If a job is listed on our web site, it is considered open and resumes are still being accepted. Please be aware some jobs take longer to fill than others and may remain open for longer periods of time. Additionally, we may be in the process of concluding an offer and may be simply waiting for a response from the finalist.

Compensation for positions at WHOI is based on salary benchmark studies. These studies include careful review of job descriptions, matching within salary surveys, analysis of compensation market data and review of internal equity considerations. If you are the final candidate for a position, your background will be compared to the position requirements and other incumbents for equity purposes. If you have specific salary requirements, we encourage you to indicate that when applying online.
